Well it has been quite a busy past month for me…including 6 airplane rides, 2 road trips, 6 weddings, 2 engagement sessions, attending a wedding as a guest and all sorts of socializing in between. But I am determined to share it all here on the blog…piece by piece. Right before I left for this most recent trip I watched Planes, Trains & Automobiles and I thought to myself, wow that’s kind of like my life during wedding season…minus the John Candy character. But I am happy to be home for at least a good 3 weeks before I head to New England for a very special wedding that I am super excited about.
Anyway, first thing’s first…the fabulously gorgeous wedding of Megan and Jon. Seriously, such a lovely couple, beautiful families, a great time all around. And a little rain didn’t spoil any of the fun I got to witness on May 14th in DC.
A little info on the talented folks who helped to make it a big success:
Getting Ready/ Rehearsal Dinner: Hay Adams
Ceremony Venue: St. Matthews Cathedral
Reception Venue: Congressional Country Club
Event Designer: Erin Cermack
Coordinator: Deanne Ciatto
Florist: Enchanted Florist
Hair/ Makeup: Andre Chreky
So how about some images?
Here’s a quick portrait I grabbed of Megan & Jon at their rehearsal dinner…such an incredible view from the roof of the Hay Adams which has recently been renovated.
One of the most personal things about this wedding was the fact that Megan wore her grandmother’s wedding gown. It had also been worn by her mother and her cousin so they had this hanky embroidered with all of the initials & dates of those who had worn the dress pinned in under the skirt. Such a wonderful touch.
The always wonderful Kim Seidl came along to 2nd shoot with me and she spent some time with the very handsome guys.
After the ceremony we headed over to Georgetown Visitation for some portraits with the wedding party.
